United States Agricultural Attaché visits ChileCarne

As part of its international outreach efforts, ChileCarne hosted Amanda Hinkle, the U.S. Agricultural Attaché to Chile, along with Nelson Ramírez, Agricultural Specialist at the Office of Agricultural Affairs.

The meeting was an opportunity to provide details on the Chilean swine and poultry sector, including its key figures and competitive attributes, the trade association’s work, and the challenges the sector faces in an increasingly demanding global environment.

The US is a strategic market for Chilean exports, particularly poultry. In 2025, it imported about 150,000 tons of chicken, of which roughly 48,000 tons came from Chile, generating returns exceeding $150 million dollars. With a share close to 30%, Chile is the US’ largest external chicken supplier, consolidating a significant and sustained presence.

That is why deepening institutional dialogue and joint work is essential to building a robust, long-term commercial relationship. ChileCarne was represented by its President, Juan Carlos Domínguez; the Business Manager, Rodrigo Castañón; and the Communications and Marketing Manager, Pía Barros. They emphasized the significance of this meeting in continuing to strengthen bilateral cooperation and the international standing of the Chilean meat sector.
